Gummy je debitirala leta 2003 s svojim prvim celovečernim albumom Like Them. Njen drugi album It's Different je izšel 9. septembra 2004. Naslovna skladba albuma 'Memory Loss' ji je prinesla uspeh in prepoznavnost ter jo pripeljala do zmage na Bonsangu na 19. podelitvi zlatih diskov. Istega leta si je za pesem prislužila nagrado Mnet Km Music Festival for Mobile Popularity Award 2004.
15. oktobra 2011 je MV za njeno predelavo 'I'm Sorry' feat. Izšel je TOP.
Leta 2013 je Gummy zaznamovala deseto obletnico, ki jo je proslavila s srečanjem oboževalcev. Nato je izdala svoj OST za dramo That Winter, the Wind Blows z naslovom 'Snow Flower'.
Gummy je izdala tudi svoj drugi japonski album, Fate(s). Imela je tudi duet z Daesungom iz skupine BIGBANG. Izdana sta bila dva videospota za glavni singel albuma, 'Shinjiteru (Believe)'.
Gummy je oktobra 2013 podpisal pogodbo s C-JeS Entertainment in zapustil YG Entertainment.
Gummy je od leta 2013 v zvezi z igralcem Jo Jung-sukom. Junija 2018 sta oznanila, da se bosta jeseni poročila. 8. oktobra 2018 je odjeknila novica, da se je par zasebno poročil. 6. avgusta 2020 se jima je rodila hči.
